Payment & Billing Policy
This Policy explains Moon Umlaut's published service pricing, billing expectations, scope changes, payment records, and handling of charges related to podcast and editorial production services.
1. Standard Service Pricing
- Podcast Concept Development — $150 per project.
- Podcast Recording Support — $100 per session.
- Audio Editing and Cleanup — $125 per episode.
- Full Podcast Episode Production — $250 per episode.
- Podcast Transcription — $75 per episode.
- Show Notes and Episode Copywriting — $85 per episode.
- Podcast Publishing Support — $100 per episode.
2. What Standard Pricing Assumes
Published prices assume an ordinary service scope and source material reasonably suitable for the requested work. Additional pricing may be appropriate for unusually long recordings, severe technical cleanup, numerous source files, extensive restructuring, additional episodes, expedited delivery, or other work materially beyond the service description.
3. Quotes and Approval
When a request requires a custom scope, Moon Umlaut may provide a written quote before work begins. A quote may identify the service, expected deliverables, price, source-material requirements, and any material assumptions.
Additional work should not be treated as included merely because it relates to the same podcast. Editing, transcription, show notes, publishing support, and concept work may be separate billable services.
4. Payment Timing
Payment timing is determined by the applicable invoice, project confirmation, or other written arrangement. Depending on the project, payment may be requested before work begins, at an agreed milestone, or by a stated invoice due date.
5. Late or Outstanding Amounts
Moon Umlaut may pause production, postpone delivery, or withhold final files while an undisputed amount that is due remains unpaid. A delay caused by an overdue balance may affect the original delivery schedule.
6. Billing Errors
Clients should review invoices and raise questions promptly. If an invoice contains a genuine clerical or pricing error, Moon Umlaut may correct the record and issue an updated invoice where appropriate.
7. Additional Work
Additional work may include new source recordings, added episodes, new deliverables, materially changed creative direction, extensive revision requests outside the agreed scope, or work required because the original instructions or files were incomplete.
8. Third-Party Charges
Bank charges, payment-processor fees, currency-conversion charges, international transfer costs, platform subscription fees, podcast-hosting fees, or other third-party expenses are not included unless expressly stated.
9. Taxes
Applicable taxes or legally required charges may be added when required. The client is responsible for its own accounting and tax obligations in connection with purchased services.
10. Payment Security
Clients should use the payment method specified in the applicable invoice or approved payment process. Complete card details, banking passwords, or security codes should not be sent through ordinary website forms or email.
11. Billing Records
Moon Umlaut may retain invoices, payment status, approved scope changes, and related transaction records for accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, and ordinary business-record purposes.
12. Refund Relationship
Refunds and cancellations are governed by the separate Cancellation & Refund Policy and any project-specific terms. A billing dispute does not automatically create a right to a refund for work already performed.
